Invinity Energy Systems:

A little bit about Invinity Energy Systems

One of our customers, RedT Energy (now part of Invinity, following a merge in 2020) has built an entire business on providing solutions that are designed to help the world tackle the growing climate crisis.

Formed in 2009, redT energy are experts in solar energy storage, specialising in the design, manufacture, installation and operation of energy storage infrastructure which creates revenue alongside reliable, low-cost renewable generation for businesses, industry and electricity distribution networks.

And if you’re thinking of solar energy storage in terms of the solar panels you see on the rooflines of those who have converted their homes to get their energy courtesy of the sun’s power, then you’re on the right lines – but you need to think bigger.

redT runs a network of network-connected solar storage facilities, using special patented vanadium redox flow technology to store energy in liquid.

What makes this such a unique proposition is that unlike other renewables storage infrastructure, redT's energy storage machines can be run continually with no degradation, charging and discharging for more than 25 years, matching the lifespan of renewable assets in on-grid, off-grid and weak-grid settings.

Investors and sector commentators have long lauded redT's 15-year record in energy storage solutions, for the way in which they address today's changing energy market through.

This is achieved through the provision of a flexible platform for time-shifting surplus renewable power, securing electricity supplies and earning revenue through grid services.

Such is the draw of the company’s model that it has customers in the UK, Europe, sub-Saharan Africa, Australia and Asia Pacific.

The YCG Solution

Inevitably, like all advanced technology, redT’s storage facilities are run courtesy of the Internet of Things – software rich machinery and technology that can be run, managed and monitored through a cloud-based network system.

In turn, that means redT’s team of specialists need to be able to see, at any time of the day or night and anywhere in the world, that their infrastructure resilience is maintained, and that their systems are running as they should.

And whilst solar and other renewable energy is very definitely the right way forward for all of us in a world of declining fossil fuel and increasingly erratic climate change, it’s also a business – so redT also needs to be able to keep an eye on the money.

And what all that needs is the kind of smart connectivity that we provide through smart SIMS and mobile device management (MDM).

With our multi-network SIMS, redT has visibility over all of its assets all over the world – and all at the swipe of a finger. From their mobile handset or tablet, redT engineers can check the functionality and performance of their storage facilities and also see the yield they’re getting.

That eyes-on ability translates into better efficiency as well as lower costs – not just for redT themselves, but also for people like you and me who use the energy they store.

We value our relationship with redT because their values are closely aligned with ours, in doing business in a socially and environmentally responsible way.
